Saturday, December 20th
6 pm until whenever
What's the Occasion?
The weather has cooled down, the hard work from the Witches' Ball is over, and it's time for all good heathen folk to get together and party for the holidays.
The Interesting Part
The first nine partygoers to show up will get a bottle of mead to take
home!
We'll have a fire in the fireplace, a bonfire, a burning of the Yule Log
(take home some ashes for good luck!), pagan caroling, feasting, merrymaking
and a pagan "Give Away." Later in the evening, we'll have a traditional Norse Sumble Ritual.
(to learn more about a sumble, click here.)
Don't forget to peek in on the holiday garden the fairies have set up!
Dress is casual!
In keeping with the "Jul" part of "Yule," food will primarily consist of a smorgasbord of assorted desserts and snack foods. If you wish to share you culinary delights and bring a dish, that would be cool too!
Beverages on hand will include (but aren't limited to) soft drinks, mead, soft mead, Swedish coffee, wassail and a fruit punch yet to be determined. If you wish to BYOB, that's fine too. Bear in mind I reserve the right to confiscate car keys if you imbibe too much and I think it's necessary.
If you do plan to imbibe too much, you're welcome to crash on the spare bed, sofas or floor space.
What to bring:
Everything below is optional. You're welcome to just bring yourself!
Food dish to share
Have you ever been to a Pagan "Give Away?" It's where everyone brings a "no-longer needed" pagan/craft/magical item of theirs, and at the end of the evening, can pick something up that someone else left that they need. It's reciprocal, so if you bring three items, you get to take home three items. Ideas for items could be, books, jewelry, "old" magickal tools, items that were given to you that didn't sit just right, that sort of thing. It's lots of fun, a great way to "recycle" magickal items, and to pick up something you need!
If you wish to participate in the Sumble (to be done later in the evening) bring your favorite drinking vessel, otherwise you'll have to use A Sacred Dixie Cup.
If you like hanging around the bonfire, a lawn chair or blanket would be advisable.
RSVP Required
Please let me know yes/no or maybe by December 18th (I do try to estimate how much food to prepare.) Feel free to show up even if you said you would not be able to make it, you're invited because we want to see you!
HeartsEase is a pet enabled household, with a friendly dog, a few snobby cats and a teenager roaming about, so people with children or allergies should plan ahead.
If you wish to bring someone that's cool, just let me know so I can plan accordingly.
Partying is scheduled to begin around 6 pm, and will continue until exhaustion sets in. The sumble will probably begin around 9 pm, depending upon the weather around the bonfire or fireplace.
Anyone showing up EARLY will get drafted to help!
Please Contact Us
email redseichie anytime. Once you've RSVP'd I'll send driving directions and phone numbers. Same rules apply: If you've attended one of our public rituals, and/or are a member of the RHPC, or are known by someone who is and they can vouch for you, we'd love to have to come. If none of the above apply, but you're willing to meet with me ahead of time, you're still invited!
